About
Entrepreneur, rancher and father.

Colombian, born in Medellín. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from CES University, and MBA from Peking University, in China, and Vlerick Business School, in Belgium. Alumnus of Singularity University in the United States, an institution dedicated to helping solve global grand challenges with exponential technologies.

In December 2009 he joined Premex. From 2013 to 2016 he lived in China, leading sales for Asia-Pacific, and opened the commercial operation in Southeast Asia. His work also took him to Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, Russia, Turkey and Egypt.
He then led Mivita, Asimetrix, Iluma Innovation Labs and Alura, all part of Iluma Alliance. Today he is CEO of Siwa Bioworks. He lives between Medellín and Durham, North Carolina.
With his family he is building Ganadería San Juan, in Colombia’s Magdalena Medio region, a cattle company that is still learning to be one. On one of the farms there are 218 hectares of forest the family decided to protect; that project is called Yuwú. He breeds Colombian Criollo horses at La Siberia, the stud farm his father founded.
Here he writes every week about something he lived and what he learned: the land, business, biotechnology and family.
